Description
El Torreón is a large comfortable hacienda available for retreat and quiet getaways. The home is made in traditional Santa Fe style; high ceilings, vigas (wood beams), massive walls making it warm in winter, cool in summer, kiva fireplaces, and an enclosed courtyard with a fountain and fruit trees. It’s five minutes to some of the most popular area restaurants: El Nido, Tesuque Market, Bishops Lodge (soon to reopen with an amazing new restaurant), and a few minutes more to either the plaza or the Santa Fe Opera. Since this home is part of a quiet community, we ask that it is not rented for parties or celebrations and that music stays at a reasonable indoor volume. In addition, this home is not pet friendly and we ask those with service animals to seek other accommodations as the owner is very allergic to all dogs even hypoallergenic ones.
El Torreon, which means "The Tower," is surrounded by trees and water--Tesuque Creek on the west, and the Acequia Madre de Tesuque, a 300 year old irrigation ditch, on the east. The area is known for its deciduous trees and cool valley location. El Torreon has numerous flagstone patios and portals (covered areas to relax and enjoy the surroundings), a large rooftop deck above with views of the creek and hillside, and an outdoor fireplace. Its location is quiet and private. Deer sometimes wander down from mesa hill to the East which also has a great hiking/walking trail in addition to the Windsor Trail accessible by foot from Bishop's Lodge Road. The Acequia runs in the Spring and Summer months depending on water supplies. Tesuque creek varies from a trickle in the summer months to an energetic torrent after a rainstorm in the mountains.
This spectacular home has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Two master bedrooms have beautiful king-size beds and kiva fireplaces, one private patio and with mountain views. There are two spacious bedrooms with Queen size beds, one with a kiva fireplace and french doors to the courtyard. The last bedroom contains two sets of bunk beds

- This home is NOT pet-friendly. Our cleaning staff reports pet hair to us after each check out. Any unauthorized pets will result in a $1,000 fee.

Our large family loved our stay. The property was clean and well appointed. There was room for everyone from toddler twins to grandparents. We would highly recommend this beautiful property. We celebrated a birthday and a belated Christmas while we were in Santa Fe and we talked about how much fun it would be to come back during the summer season! Excellent service from Two Casitas! They answered all my questions timely and the property exceeded my expectations. I accidentally locked myself out of the house during a snowstorm on Thanksgiving Day. I called Two Casitas and they immediately told me how to locate an extra key and even offered to send an agent to open the house for me again.

A group of my high school buddies and me chose Santa Fe for a trip to reconnect and celebrate life long friendships. We chose the right place and the right rental agency. The house, the weather, the views, etc were outstanding. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us to have our own space. If you travel as couples, you could get close to doubling that up. Golf one day, casino another, and the 3rd just taking it easy playing cards and cocktailing on the deck, this place has it all. We will be back. Thank you VRBO, and thank you Two Casitas, top notch.
