There are so many Santa Fe events to choose from! Dozens of events happen every year and draw hundreds to thousands of people. Each month brings something unique like ceremonial Native American traditions or the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Whatever time you choose to visit "the City Different," there will likely be a Santa Fe festival that you won't want to miss!

The Turtle Dance is a ceremonial celebration of the start of the year performed by Native Americans. Taos Pueblo opens to the public on the morning of January 1 for the dances and can last all day. |

Santa Fe Film Festival happens annually for five days around the middle of February. It`s a celebration of New Mexican cinema that rewards films and the people who make them, both on and off the screen. |

The International Folk Art Market celebrates cultures from every part of the world. The two-weekend event takes place in July on Museum Hill between the Museum of International Folk Art, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and the Laboratory of Anthropology. The market is known as one of the best Santa Fe events. |

This is one of the easiest ways to get a taste of New Mexico`s Native American art and culture. The Santa Fe Indian Market is held in August on the Santa Fe Plaza by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts. The market also features traditional dances and an Indigenous fashion show. |

This is truly a unique Santa Fe event! The burning of Will Shuster`s Zozobra happens on the Friday of Labor Day Weekend as a "fiery finale" to summer. Artist Will Shuster created the Zozobra and started the tradition in his backyard. Today, the event is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe at Fort Marcy Park. |

The Canyon Road Christmas Eve Walk, also known as the Canyon Road Farolito Walk, is a holiday tradition that lights up the streets and hearts of Santa Fe. Thousands of paper lanterns called farolitos line Canyon Road turning the art gallery district into a work of art itself. |

Bring in the New Year in "the City Different" at the beloved Santa Fe Plaza! New Year`s Eve on the Santa Fe Plaza has everything from heaters and bonfires to live music. Just to be truly different, the event raises (instead of drops) a Zia sun symbol as fireworks light up the night sky at midnight. |
